Electric Motor MechanicPosition Summary: The Electric Motor Mechanic is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and rebuilding electric motors used in a variety of industrial equipment, including field cores, bobbins, armature cores, electric motors, generators, and control auxiliary boxes. This role may also involve fabricating or repairing copper connections such as rings and jumpers. The mechanic ensures equipment is restored to proper operating condition through inspection, testing, maintenance, and component replacement.Essential Duties and Responsibilities:Diagnose, disassemble, and inspect electric motors and rotating equipment to identify wear, damage, or performance issuesRepair or replace defective components to restore motors to proper working conditionPerform routine preventive maintenance and diagnostic testing on electrical motors and related equipmentAssemble and reassemble motors, ensuring proper alignment and functionality of all componentsRecord production data, maintenance activities, and inspection results accurately and timelyWork with various materials, including copper wiring, and fabricate connections such as rings and jumper leads as neededApply basic knowledge of production and manufacturing processes and quality control standardsEnsure all work meets safety guidelines and company quality expectationsQualifications:High School Diploma or equivalent required1–2 years of experience in an electric motor repair or similar industrial repair environment preferredAbility to identify, inspect, and test various types of AC/DC motorsSkilled in handling fine motor tasks such as cutting, stripping, grinding, bending wire leads, and soldering coil endsStrong mechanical aptitude with a steady, dexterous handAbility to interpret instructions, listen actively, and make timely, informed decisionsBasic understanding of raw materials, production processes, and quality control principlesAbility to work under close supervision and follow established procedures
