Hospitals, hotels, schools, bridges, airports, and more.Come build a career you believe in.About the RoleAtlas Tube, a division of Zekelman Industries, is looking for a Mill Material Handler at our North Kansas City, MO location. This role is responsible for supplying materials needed to run the Slitter while ensuring efficiency and organization in material handling. Attention to detail and adherence to safety protocols are critical for success.Shift: 3rd Shift – 7 PM – 5:30 AMWhat You'll DoEnsures the mill bay has all required raw materials for the current operation.Loads and unloads the Slitter efficiently to maintain smooth operations.Assists the Slitter crew during changeovers.Maintains and organizes coil inventory.Separates heat numbers together within designated bay areas and inspects coils for defects.Assists the coil yard attendant in unloading coils from trucks, off-rolling equipment, or rail.Empties scrap bins into dumpsters as needed.Oversees scrap truck replacements when dumpsters are swapped.Utilizes chains and slings properly for lifting different weights.Performs daily inspections of cranes, chains, slings, and related equipment.Maintains a clean and organized work area, truck drive, and desk space.Completes OJT & JSA training successfully.Trains others for the position and cross-trains in other areas as needed.Complies with Atlas Tube policies and OSHA regulations, including Lock Out ~ Tag Out.Attends all scheduled company and safety meetings.Follows and enforces company safety policies and procedures.Demonstrates teamwork and cooperation with colleagues and supervisors.Submits detailed and accurate work orders for equipment issues that cannot be resolved by the operator or team.Who You AreSufficient reading and writing abilities to perform essential duties.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Self-motivated and detail-oriented.Ability to read, interpret, and use micrometers.Basic mechanical aptitude.Strong safety orientation.Spatial ability and organizational skills.Achievement-oriented with a strong sense of responsibility.Effective teamwork and persistence in problem-solving.Physical & Work RequirementsPersonal Protective Equipment (PPE) required at all times.Use of hand tools and equipment as needed.Occasional overtime.Warehouse environment with an uncontrolled climate year-round.Dusty and noisy work conditions within OSHA guidelines.Regular exposure to moving mechanical parts.Position requires excessive walking.What You'll GetZekelman Industries offers competitive compensation and excellent benefits, including low-cost, high-quality medical and dental benefits.
