In this role, you will spend the majority of your time designing, building, and operating production microservices on AWS and Kubernetes that serve as the foundation for Workday's Extend developer ecosystem. You will own services end-to-end, from design and implementation through production reliability, and build frontend interfaces where the work requires it.This role will support one or more direct or indirect contracts with the U.S. Federal Government which, due to federal government security requirements, mandates that all Workday personnel working on the contracts be United States citizens (naturalized or native).May be required to be on site at client locations in the DC, MD, and VA (DMV) area.ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with peers, product owners, and designers to design, build, test, and deliver high-quality software to Workday's growing developer communityDesign and implement scalable, resilient microservices on AWS with KubernetesWrite clear, efficient, and maintainable code and participate actively in design and code reviewsBuild frontend interfaces as required to deliver complete, production-ready featuresOwn services through their full lifecycle, including incident response, root cause analysis, and ongoing reliability improvementsDiscover and troubleshoot issues with existing architecture and codeSupport release planning by providing detailed estimates of effort, risk, and priority in an agile environmentContribute to team productivity, tooling, and process improvementsAbout YouThis role may require a security clearance at the TS/SCI w/CI Poly level.
