Status: Contingent upon contract award and Government approval
Contract: Initial 10.5 months with four 12-month option periods, potentially through September 2031.
Position Summary
SMX is seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator to support enterprise database operations for the U.S. Government Publishing Office. The role focuses on Oracle administration, backup and recovery, performance tuning, high availability, security, patching, monitoring, automation, and production support.
Requirements
- 4+ years of database administration experience
- Strong hands-on Oracle Database experience
- PL/SQL, SQL, Oracle RMAN, and Oracle Grid
- Database installation, configuration, upgrades, and patching
- Backup, restoration, and point-in-time recovery
- High Availability and Disaster Recovery
- Performance tuning and monitoring
- Database security, users, roles, privileges, and auditing
- Production troubleshooting and root-cause analysis
- Scripting and automation
- Experience supporting development, test, staging, and production environments
Experience with SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, and cloud databases is a plus. Professional Oracle certifications are strongly preferred.
