A Mid-Level M&A Associate position based in Austin, Texas, focused on domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions. This role involves representing private equity sponsors, investors, and middle‑market companies in sophisticated corporate transactions while working within a collaborative national transactions practice.
Duties
- Represent clients in mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and other strategic transactions.
- Draft, review, and negotiate transaction documents.
- Manage multiple transaction workstreams from inception through closing.
- Collaborate with attorneys across practice areas on complex transactions.
- Communicate directly with clients, opposing counsel, and deal teams.
- Provide practical legal and business advice throughout the transaction lifecycle.
- Support private equity and strategic corporate transactions across various industries.
- Contribute to client relationship development and business development initiatives.
Requirements
- 4 to 8 years of experience in mergers and acquisitions or related corporate transactions.
- Significant experience handling complex M&A transactions, including private equity matters.
- Ability to manage multiple matters simultaneously and work directly with clients.
- Interest in business development and long‑term client relationship management.
- Strong academic credentials.
Education and Certifications
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA‑accredited law school.
- Active membership in good standing with the applicable state bar.
- Admission to the Texas Bar, or eligibility to obtain admission, required as a condition of employment.
