Mid-Level Financial Services Associate

Arnold & Porter’s is seeking a mid‑level associate (2020 - 2023) to join our Financial Services group in our New York or Washington, DC offices.

Widely recognized for its legal services to US and international institutions, the Arnold & Porter’s Financial Services Practice Group of more than 70 lawyers provides financial institution and fintech clients with comprehensive regulatory, litigation, legislative, and transactional services. The practice group handles complex regulatory and transactional issues, investigations, and administrative enforcement actions and represents clients in legislative matters related to the financial services industry.

Qualifications

• Experience in and continued interest in bank regulatory, anti‑money laundering, consumer protection, fintech, chartering or cryptocurrency matters.
• Strong research, writing, and analytic skills.
• Ability to work independently, creatively, and successfully as part of a team.
• Excellent academic credentials and references.
• Experience representing clients before or working at the Federal Reserve, FDIC, OCC, FinCEN or state banking agencies is preferred.
• Applicants must currently be licensed, or currently be eligible to become licensed, to practice law in Washington, DC.

Compensation

The salary range for this position in New York and Washington D.C. is $235,000 - $365,000, commensurate with experience. Eligibility for an hours‑based bonus is available.
