Mid-Level Electrical Designer - Kiewit Power EngineeringLocation: Lenexa, KS, US Phoenix, AZ, US Richmond, VA, US Houston, TX, US Raleigh, NC, US Woodcliff Lake, NJ, US Lone Tree, CO, US Detroit, MI, US New York, NY, US Boston, MA, US Tempe, AZ, US Chattanooga, TN, USMid-level role supporting EPC project design work for power generation projects. Designer are responsible for developing detailed raceway designs including cable tray and above ground conduit from concept to completion. Our staff leads and collaborates with Kiewit's construction teams to approach construction-drive engineering with a focus on safe, cost effective, and innovative designs that achieve client expectations and further Kiewit's legacy of excellence.This position can be based in any of the following office locations: Lenexa, KS; Lone Tree, CO; Houston, TX; Raleigh, NC; Phoenix/Tempe, AZ; New York City, NY; or Woodcliff Lake, NJ. For roles in Chattanooga, TN; Detroit, MI; or Richmond, VA, the position will start remotely and transition to a hybrid/in office arrangement once the new office is established.Responsibilities:Design cable tray, grounding and lighting systems from concept to completionPerform calculations to size and check allowable fill in conduits and cable tray systems according to NEC requirementsRoutes electrical cables in a 3D environment to generate a cable schedulePerform layout of electrical equipment in electrical buildingsDevelops 3D models utilizing drawings, sketches, and design skillsChecks and navigates in the 3D models for interferences and constructabilityPerform calculations to size pull boxes according to NEC requirementsDesign and draft intermediate electrical drawingsLittle to no supervision required to apply standard correctly to designInitiates development of personal objectives aligned with those of the organizationPerforms assigned work efficiently and effectively to maximize person productivityComplies with company standards to produce quality deliverablesCompletes miscellaneous tasks to support project developmentParticipates in project meetings as requiredQualifications:At least 5 years' experience in electrical designPower Generation experience preferredExperience in SmartPlant 3DExperience in AutoCAD or MicroStationExperience designing cable tray from concept to completionExperience in grounding systemsExperience utilizing the NECMust be able to conceptualize in a 3D environmentAbility to work in a growing, adaptive and multi-discipline team environmentAbility to work independently with limited direction and oversightStrong written and verbal communication skills; fluent in English languageBase Compensation: $73,000/yr - $76,000/yr (Actual compensation is subject to variation due to such factors as education, experience, skillset, and/or location)We offer our fulltime staff employees a comprehensive benefits package that's among the best in our industry, including top-tier medical, dental and vision plans covering eligible employees and dependents, voluntary wellness and employee assistance programs, life insurance, disability, retirement plans with matching, and generous paid time off.
