Jacobs is seeking a Mid-Level Data Scientist for the Advisory Solutions Group within the Asset Management Digital Strategies Practice supporting Federal clients.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement machine learning models and AI algorithms to address complex business and technical problems
- Design and optimize database architectures to support AI applications
- Build and maintain semantic search solutions to improve data retrieval and user experience
- Train and fine-tune machine learning models to support performance and accuracy targets
- Create and maintain interactive decision-support systems aligned to client needs
- Partner with internal teams and clients to deliver strategic AI-driven insights and solutions
- Monitor AI and data science advancements and apply updates to continuously improve delivery practices
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years of experience in AI, data science, or a related field, including academic projects or internships focused on AI and data analytics
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline such as Computer Science, Data Science, Data Engineering, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Mathematics, or a closely related field
- Proficiency with Python, R, JavaScript, or TypeScript
- Strong understanding of SQL and relational databases
- Experience integrating external AI models including OpenAI, Mixtral, LLaMA , and platforms such as Azure Machine Learning, Amazon SageMaker, or Vertex AI
- Background in deployment , MLOps , testing , and model monitoring
- Knowledge of semantic search implementation for improved data retrieval and user experience
- Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technical skills in a fast-paced environment
- Strong problem-solving skills and a team-oriented mindset
- Ability to travel up to 20% of the time (CONUS and OCONUS) and obtain a U.S. Government Common Access Card
- Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance
- U.S. Citizenship required for government-facing work; visa sponsorship is not available
