Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner LLP (BCLP), a top Am Law 100 firm, is seeking a highly motivated and exceptionally qualified mid-level associate (4–7 years of experience) to join its nationally recognized Litigation & Disputes Practice Group, with a focus on class actions and mass torts. This position is open to candidates in any of the firm’s U.S. offices. This is a unique opportunity to work alongside leading litigators defending global companies in complex, high-exposure matters.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in the defense of complex class action and mass tort matters in state and federal courts.
- Manage and support all phases of litigation, including:
- Pleadings and motion practice
- Fact and expert discovery
- Depositions (taking and defending)
- Class certification briefing and strategy
- Trial preparation and trial support
- Appellate briefing and support
- Collaborate closely with partners and clients on litigation strategy and case management.
- Interface directly with clients and contribute to strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
- Federal circuit court clerkship and/or Assistant U.S. Attorney (AUSA) experience.
- 4–7 years of complex litigation experience within a big‑law firm setting, including fact and expert witness deposition experience.
- Demonstrated experience supporting trial teams in state or federal jury trials.
- Superior analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Ability to take ownership of assignments and assume a high degree of responsibility.
- Client‑service mindset with the ability to manage client engagements effectively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with a collaborative and team‑oriented approach.
- J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to the bar in the state of location preference (or ability to become admitted promptly).
