Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking a mid-level Associate Attorney to join its Energy & Infrastructure practice in New York, New York. The position focuses on mergers and acquisitions, transactional matters, and strategic projects involving energy and digital infrastructure assets. The ideal candidate will have experience with energy industry transactions and an interest in working on complex infrastructure deals involving utilities, renewable energy, power generation, and emerging infrastructure sectors.

Duties:

  • Advise clients on energy and infrastructure mergers and acquisitions and related transactional matters.
  • Support complex transactions involving energy assets, digital infrastructure, and related investments.
  • Assist with structuring and negotiating transactions involving utilities, independent power producers, renewable energy projects, and infrastructure developments.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate agreements related to energy and infrastructure transactions, including power purchase agreements and related commercial arrangements.
  • Provide legal support for matters involving data center development, behind-the-meter power structures, and colocation power arrangements.
  • Conduct legal research and analysis regarding energy regulations, transactional structures, and industry developments.
  • Assist clients with due diligence, transaction execution, and closing processes.
  • Collaborate with attorneys and clients to develop practical solutions for complex business and legal issues.

Requirements:

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in energy and infrastructure M&A transactions or related transactional matters.
  • Experience handling energy industry transactions is preferred.
  • Familiarity with utilities, independent power producers, renewable energy projects, LNG, data center development, power purchase agreements, and related infrastructure structures is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of transactional processes and commercial agreements.
  • Excellent academic credentials.
  • Admission to the New York, Washington, DC, or California Bar.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
  • Active bar admission in New York, Washington, DC, or California.
