Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer

Location: Nashville, TN (Remote)

Type: Contract through December 2026 with potential for extension or conversion

Compensation: $52/hr (W2)

We're looking for a Senior Microsoft 365 Engineer to join a growing collaboration and communication services team supporting a large enterprise environment.

This role was created because the team is spending too much time reacting to day-to-day requests and not enough time improving the platform. The person coming into this position will help drive modernization efforts, improve security posture, and identify opportunities to automate manual processes.

This is a strong fit for someone who enjoys digging into complex Microsoft 365 environments, solving problems, and making practical recommendations that improve security, efficiency, and user experience.

What You'll Be Doing

• Assess and improve Microsoft 365 security posture


• Review Microsoft Secure Score findings and help prioritize remediation efforts


• Partner with security teams to determine which risks require action versus accepted business exceptions


• Modernize and rewrite legacy PowerShell automation scripts


• Evaluate existing onboarding and user provisioning processes


• Document current-state workflows and recommend improvements


• Assist with Microsoft 365 administration and platform optimization


• Support ongoing projects involving Microsoft collaboration and productivity tools


• Research new Microsoft technologies and provide recommendations for adoption


• Help reduce manual administrative effort through automation

What We're Looking For

• Strong Microsoft 365 administration experience in large enterprise environments


• Experience working with Microsoft security and compliance features


• PowerShell scripting and automation experience


• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills


• Ability to evaluate existing processes and recommend practical improvements


• Experience supporting Microsoft collaboration platforms and cloud services


• Strong communication skills and ability to work independently in a remote environment
