Micro Molding Process TechnicianLocation: Ankeny, IA (onsite) Pay: $21 to $21 per hour, non-exempt Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts, day or nightAbout the RoleDo you take pride in making precise parts that work the first time? As a Micro Molding Process Technician, you'll own the production of plastic parts that meet or exceed customer expectations. You'll fine-tune processes, solve problems at the machine, and help train the next generation of technicians.ScheduleYou'll work a rotating pattern: 3 days on, 2 days off, then 2 days on, 3 days off.Days: 7:00 AM to 7:30 PMNights: 7:00 PM to 7:30 AMWhat You'll DoLead by example, mentoring and training new team membersChoose the most efficient processing methods for each part's specifications and constraintsImprove manufacturing efficiency using your knowledge of product design, materials, equipment, and quality standardsSet and maintain mold processing parameters across all shiftsDocument mold performance for the tool room, quality control, and production managementTroubleshoot systematically, perform minor mold and machine maintenance, and recommend solutionsRaise production issues with management and join meetings to resolve customer complaints, design problems, and equipment limitationsWhat You BringRequiredHigh school coursework or a GEDExperience or training in manufacturing with quality systemsAbility to use measuring and inspection equipmentAbility to read specification drawings for inspectionComfort with basic math (whole numbers, fractions, and decimals in all units of measure)Practical problem-solving skillsClear communication, one-on-one and in small groupsBasic keyboarding skillsAlso helpfulWillingness to keep learning through classes and trainingFlexibility for occasional travel and overtime as production needs requirePhysical RequirementsFrequent sitting, standing, and movement around the facilitySteady hands for working with very small parts and tweezersSense of touch to detect texture, burs, and edgesNormal or corrected vision, including good color and close vision, plus the ability to use and focus a microscopeAbility to lift or move up to 55 lbsWork EnvironmentYou'll work in a climate-controlled facility with few temperature or humidity extremes.

Noise is usually moderate, ranging from very low to moderate depending on the area. Safety glasses are required. This is an individual contributor role with no supervisory duties.
