SUMMARY: Reporting to Chief of Emergency Medicine and working as part of the Emergency Department team, the Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner will participate in all aspects of care, including diagnosis, treatment and disposition with a particular focus on compassionate and courteous service.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Obtain patient histories
- Perform comprehensive physical examinations to evaluate patients for admission
- Perform bedside diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Coordinate tests and consultations
- Implement treatment plans, including communicating with referring and consulting physicians
- Provide consultation, teaching, and coordination with patients and their family members about treatment and medical care
- Prepare patients for discharge
- Perform other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
- Master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies, with National Commission of Certification of Physician Assistants, or a master’s from an accredited Nurse Practitioner’s Program
- Current Massachusetts license to practice as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant
- Minimum of one year experience in Emergency Medicine or Urgent Care
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively alongside Emergency Physicians
WORK ENVIRONMENT AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Fast-paced, interactive, team-oriented Emergency Department environment with a diverse range of patients and pathology.
INDEPENDENT ACTION: Responds to individual patient-care situations demonstrating knowledge and skills acquired through education, certification, and work experience.

PAY RANGE: $127,504.00 – $161,782.40
