Job Description:

BASIC FUNCTION:

The Program Coordinator provides academic and administrativeleadership for the Master of Fine Arts (MFA) program.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Plan and oversee the Winter and Summer residencies in collaborationwith the Program Founder and Co-Director.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Serve as the primary liaison between the Graduate Programfaculty and University administration on matters related to theprogram.
• Develop and maintain program planning documents, includingstrategic goals, annual reports, academic program reviews,self-studies, assessment plans, and accreditation reports forsubmission to the Vice Provost.
• Develop, manage, and administer the program's annual operatingbudget, including identifying capital needs and ensuringexpenditures remain within approved budget allocations.
• Review curriculum planning and course scheduling incollaboration with faculty, the Department Chair, the Registrar,and the Vice Provost.
• Ensure that current course syllabi are submitted each semesterto the Office of Graduate and Professional Studies.
• Recruit, recommend, and evaluate adjunct faculty incollaboration with the Department Chair and Vice Provost,consistent with University policies.
• Oversee the graduate admissions process by reviewingapplications and making admission decisions in accordance withestablished program and University policies.
• Monitor student recruitment, retention, academic progress, andgraduation to ensure compliance with University, departmental, andprogram requirements.
• Coordinate academic advising or directly advise studentsregarding curriculum planning, degree progression, Universitypolicies, and professional or career opportunities.
• Collaborate with Admissions and Marketing & Communicationsto promote the program, support recruitment initiatives, andincrease enrollment.

WORK SCHEDULE:

This is a part-time, 15-hour per week, 9-month per year position(October 1 - June 30)

Requirements:

Required :

An MFA or equivalent doctoral/terminal degree in Creative Writing,Theatre, Visual arts, or Film. At least three years previousleadership in academic settings; Experience planning andcoordinating events.

Preferred :

Active national or international standing as an artist, writer, orpractitioner.
