This opportunity is ideal for a transactional attorney interested in working on sophisticated mergers and acquisitions for both private and public companies.Position Overview: The firm is seeking an associate with 3–7 years of corporate experience, particularly in executing M&A transactions and drafting and negotiating principal acquisition agreements.

The role involves working closely with clients and deal teams on complex transactions from initial structuring through closing.Key Responsibilities:Execute mergers and acquisitions transactions for private and public companiesDraft and negotiate principal acquisition agreements and related transaction documentsConduct legal research and analysis in support of transactionsManage and assist with transactions from inception through closingCollaborate with attorneys and business professionals across practice groupsMaintain strong client relationships and provide responsive legal supportQualifications:JD from an accredited law schoolActive Illinois Bar admission3–7 years of corporate transactional experienceDirect large law firm experience preferredStrong academic credentials and immediately transferable transactional skillsExcellent drafting, analytical, organizational, and communication skillsWork Environment: Hybrid work arrangement with regular in-office presence in Chicago.Compensation: $260,000 – $420,000 annually, depending on experience, location, and qualifications.Benefits: Comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance, and a 401(k) plan.If you are interested in learning more about this opportunity, please contact Direct Counsel for a confidential discussion.
