Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent with one year of proven work experience, preferably in mental health or related setting. Personnel currently employed at PEMHS may move into the position with 6 months work experience and supervisory recommendation.
Physical Requirements
Ability to bend, lift a minimum of 50#, stretch, lower and raise self from floor independently. Ability to hear and see in emergency situations. Must be able to pass NAPPI training and perform NAPPI techniques.
Job Function
Responsible for assisting with daily programming as directed by the Director, the Program Manager, the Charge Nurse and the Milieu Specialist. Spends individual time with consumers. Assists and/or provides selected group activities, and promoting a positive, reinforcing environment for children and/or adults served in the program.
Special Working Conditions
Exposure to all program conditions which may include physical intervention and verbal abuse by consumers. Work hours include weekends and may include extended hours when the need arises.
