We are seeking a performance engineer to join our team and help shape the future of CockroachDB. As a performance engineer, you will evaluate database performance across various workloads and configurations, measure and define performance baselines, perform root cause analysis, conduct competitive benchmarking, and develop new workload strategies. You will also build automation tools, guide other teams on performance testing methodologies, and translate customer workloads into automated tests. This role requires 5+ years of experience as a performance engineer and software engineer, with hands‑on experience in cloud platforms like GCP, AWS, or Azure. Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset are essential. The ideal candidate has a background in databases, distributed systems, and deep expertise in performance analysis. The position is based in a hybrid work environment, with office days on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays. The annual anticipated base salary for U.S. candidates ranges from $180,000 to $238,100 USD.
