Medication TechnicianPosition Title: Medication TechnicianDepartment: Health and WellnessExempt Status: Non-exempt, HourlySupervisor: SchedulerEssential Functions:Resident CareProvides medication assistance for residents in accordance with state regulations and company policy including pouring, preparing, assisting with administration, and documentationAssists in maintaining the medication cart and storage room in a neat and orderly mannerAccepts responsibility for accurate medication counts and for security of the medication cart and medication storage room for assigned shiftsAssist residents with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, eating, transferring, and mobility, as assignedEngages residents in meaningful conversation, socialization, and activity while providing personal care and medication assistanceResponds to all resident needs and/or requests for care promptly, and provides or obtains assistance with care as necessaryAlways upholds Residents' RightsSupports and upholds all company policies and care philosophyObserves residents for changes in physical, emotional, mental, or behavioral condition, unusual symptoms, medication side effects, accidents, injuries, or unusual occurrences, and reports promptly to a licensed nurseCompletes all documentation such as medication administration records, incident reports, change of condition reports, and behavior tracking, as requested, and in a timely mannerAssists in the dining room during resident mealtimes as neededEncourages residents to participate in scheduled activities and outings, and provides residents with opportunities for self-expression and enhanced self-esteem through spontaneous individual or small group interaction and activityMust be able to work full-time or part-time as agreed upon, on assigned shift, including weekend and holiday rotationsOtherAttends all required staff meetings and in-service training sessionsDemonstrates a positive attitude and contributes to an atmosphere of team spirit and cooperation within the CommunityAnswers phones as needed, in a prompt and courteous mannerPromotes customer service and positive community relations by treating residents, families, other staff, and all visitors in a courteous, helpful and friendly mannerAssists with other duties as assigned
