Diagnostic procedures performed may include chemistry, microbiology, hemostasis, hematology, blood banking, urinalysis and phlebotomy. Functions as a member of an interdisciplinary team, and acts as a resource to staff and the general public regarding assigned areas of responsibility. Shriners Spokane is looking for a part-time Medical Technologist to join our team!Key Responsibilities:Plans and utilizes resources within the department to maximize efficiencyResolves basic equipment problems or malfunctions, overseeing the maintenance and serving as a resource to staffEvaluates and orders inventory of laboratory supplies with approval of managerReviews all pertinent patient results to ensure all quality assurance mechanisms have been adhered toChecks for outdated supplies and materials and insufficient quantitiesDemonstrates a knowledge and ability to interact with laboratory information system (LIS) and/or hospital information system (HIS) computer functions as it relates to the testing and reporting area.Actively participates in Performance Improvement activities within the Department and the HospitalEnsures that routine and priority tasks are completed within established time-linesRequired Qualifications:Bachelor of Medical Technology, CLS or Science1 year Clinical LaboratoryMLT (ASCP), CLS or Equivalent certificationMedical Technologist License in state of practicePreferred Qualifications:5 years Clinical LaboratoryPediatric Phlebotomy and current WA State Phlebotomy LicenseThe pay range for this position is $29.79-$44.69/hourlyCompensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
