Medical Technologist (MT), Acute

Schedule: Full-Time | Saturday-Monday 5:30p-6a

As a medical technologist (MT) at Centerpoint Health – Winchester, you will perform diagnostic testing on patient samples, operate laboratory equipment, conduct quality assurance, analyze test results, and participate in performance improvement. You will report to the Director of Laboratory Services and maintain regular attendance.

Responsibilities

• Perform diagnostic testing on patient samples to assist physicians in diagnosing and monitoring disease states.
• Report to the Director of Laboratory Services.
• Follow standardized procedures and prepare patient samples for testing.
• Collect and analyze bodily fluids and substances for abnormalities, including blood samples for transfusions.
• Operate laboratory equipment safely and effectively.
• Analyze test results for accuracy, acceptability, and critical limits; report and document findings according to organizational standards.
• Perform automated testing using computerized instruments and equipment.
• Conduct Quality Assurance to ensure accuracy and reliability of equipment and results.
• Participate in performance improvement and continuing education.
• Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science (preferred bachelor's degree in science).
• Medical Technologist licensure through ASCP or AMT (licensure must reflect education requirements).
