Medical Technologist Generalist 65/hour Mon-Fri

Responsibilities

• Collects body fluids for laboratory tests to provide information for diagnostic, treatment, and/or research decisions.
• Performs serology, immunology, immunohematology, hematology, bacteriology, urinalyses, biochemical, drug susceptibility, and/or other tests.
• Prepares and inoculates culture mediums and identifies organisms.
• Prepares reports of test results.
• Prepares reagents and chemicals.
• Performs preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment as required.
• Performs quality control testing for all procedures as required.
• Performs related work as required.

• Knowledge of the principles of biology, chemistry, and physics.
• Knowledge of medical technology practices and procedures.
• Knowledge of the types of laboratory tests.
• Knowledge of laboratory equipment and testing procedures.
• Knowledge of chemicals and reagents.
• Knowledge of the significance of laboratory tests.
• Skill in operating laboratory and scientific equipment for conducting tests.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with others.

Minimum Qualifications

• Licensed or temporarily licensed as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in the specialty area(s) (i.e., microbiology, serology, chemistry, hematology, immunohematology, biophysics, cytotechnology, or histopathological technology) for which the laboratory is registered in accordance with Florida Statute 483.
