Summary:
Assist the Site Administrator with the day-to-day operations of the medical department, while still serving in the medical healthcare provider role.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage all inquiries regarding information, referral, and/or possible admission
- Conduct pre‑admission screenings of potential clients for detoxification services
- Schedule detoxification admissions/discharges to detoxification and residential programs, including completion of all required medical documents
- Review all detoxification protocol applications
- Verify that medical charts have been closed properly
- Provide coverage for call‑offs and no‑shows
- Conduct ADIA admissions/discharges for detoxification clients
- Create monthly medical staff schedule
- Schedule monthly team meetings with the Physician's Assistant and/or Medical Director
- Conduct staff training for new medical employees and notify current employees of any changes in day‑to‑day procedures
- Prepare orders and inventory of medical supplies with assistance of medical staff
- Take appropriate action as directed by Medical Director to ensure client medical stability and, in cases of emergency, facilitate assistance per Harbor Light protocol
- Assist Medical Director, Physician's Assistant, and/or designate in the provision of medical services
- Ensure all records, charts, logs, and all other pertinent data for the medical unit are maintained on a daily basis
Qualifications:
- Must have and maintain a current valid Practical Nurse (PN) or Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Experience in substance abuse preferred.
