This position requires the candidate to be able to obtain a Public Trust.We offer competitive compensation and an extraordinary benefits package including health, dental and vision insurance, 401K with company matching, flexible spending accounts, paid holidays, three weeks paid time off, and more.Key ResponsibilitiesMedical Coding:Perform quantitative analysis of medical records to ensure completeness and accuracyAssign CPT/HCPCS/CDT/DSM codes in accordance with AHIMA and AMA guidelinesEnsure proper Evaluation & Management (E&M) levels are appliedSequence diagnostic and procedural terminology accuratelyEnsure compliance with official coding conventions and regulationsMedical Records Management:Scan medical documents into electronic patient recordsProtect and maintain confidentiality of protected health information (PHI)Process Release of Information (ROI) requests from patients and authorized entitiesUpdate patient registration pages and verify third-party informationObtain Medicare secondary payer signatures as requiredAdministrative Support:Answer incoming telephone calls and verify patient eligibilityMaintain accurate logs of work completedCollaborate with Health Information Management (HIM) supervisorsEnsure continuous service coverage and communicate staffing needsRequired Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent1+ year of previous experience in medical coding or health information managementCompletion of an accredited Health Information Management or Medical Coding programCurrent certification in medical coding (CCS, CPC, or equivalent preferred)Knowledge of ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, HCPCS, and DSM coding systemsUnderstanding of AHIMA and AMA coding guidelinesProficiency in electronic health record systemsStrong attention to detail and analytical skillsPreferred Qualifications:Experience working in healthcare settings, preferably Indian Health ServiceKnowledge of Medicare and Medicaid billing requirementsFamiliarity with HIPAA regulations and healthcare complianceEssential Skills:Excellent written and verbal communicationStrong organizational and time management abilitiesAbility to work independently and as part of a teamProfessional appearance and demeanorComputer proficiency and technical aptitudeCommitment to patient confidentiality and healthcare ethicsCompliance Requirements:Successfully complete background check processAbility to obtain a Public TrustMaintain HIPAA compliance at all timesAdhere to professional dress code and appearance standardsFollow all facility security protocolsComplete required training and competency assessmentsMaintain current certifications and continuing education requirementsOur Equal Employment Opportunity Policy The company is an equal opportunity employer.
