As a Medical Records Coordinator, your precision and organization directly support resident safety, compliance, and quality outcomes.If you're looking for a role where your attention to detail truly matters, we invite you to apply today.Join Elderwood at Burlington and help ensure our care stays connected, compliant, and exceptional.ResponsibilitiesWhat You'll DoValidate and maintain daily census information and submit census activity reports to the Business Office or designated departmentsSubmit required census reports to state agencies on a weekly or as-needed basisRetrieve and manage monthly reports from CMS and other regulatory systemsOrganize, review, and analyze medical records for discharged residents to ensure accuracy and completeness prior to filingPrepare documentation and reports for Quality Assurance & Performance Improvement (QA & A/QAPI) initiativesMaintain closed medical records, ensuring proper storage, accessibility, and compliant destruction per policyMaintain physician/NP scheduling and assist with related coordination tasksManage role assignments for physicians and nursing staff within electronic systems (e.g., HPN or similar platforms)Support regulatory compliance by ensuring documentation is accurate, timely, and audit-readyAssist with investigations, audits, and record retrieval as neededIf applicable, supervise and support Medical Records Assistant(s), including onboarding, training, scheduling, evaluations, and performance oversightCollaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure seamless communication and documentation flowQualificationsWhat We're Looking ForHigh School Diploma or equivalent requiredMinimum of two (2) years of long-term care experience requiredStrong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and database systemsKnowledge of medical terminology preferredEducation or training in medical records management leading toward RHIT certification preferredStrong attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced healthcare environmentExcellent communication and teamwork skillsCommitment to confidentiality, HIPAA compliance, and regulatory standardsThis position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors.
