The Front Desk Receptionist is responsible for managing the front office operations of the dermatology practice. Job Description
- Checking in and checking out patients
- Answer incoming calls, route clinical questions to staff, and relay messages promptly.
- Schedule dermatology visits and procedures accurately across provider calendars.
- Maintain patient demographics, referrals, forms, and medical records in the EMR/PM system.
- Verify insurance eligibility and referral requirements before visits; elevate authorization needs.
- Collect copays and balances, issue receipts, and reconcile front desk transactions.
- Coordinate with clinical staff on patient flow, late arrivals, and schedule changes.
- Protect patient information and follow office privacy and documentation procedures.
Qualifications
- At least one year of medical front desk experience in a multi-provider practice.
- Working knowledge of EMR/PM systems, appointment scheduling, and insurance eligibility.
- Clear, courteous communication with patients, providers, and coworkers.
- Accurate data entry, cash handling, and attention to detail in a busy office.
- Ability to manage competing priorities and protect confidential patient information.
