Front Desk Medical ReceptionistBusy West Hartford Ophthalmology practice with 10 satellite offices, looking for Front Desk Medical Receptionist to join our team. The Front Desk Medical Receptionist is a liaison between our company and its current and potential patients. The successful candidate will be able to accept ownership for effectively solving patient issues, complaints, and inquiries, keeping patient satisfaction at the core of every decision and behavior.

Provide general office support with a variety of clerical activities and related tasks within reception area.Supervisory Responsibilities: NoneDuties/Responsibilities:Identify patients' needs, clarify information, research every issue and provide solutions and/or alternativesRoute calls to appropriate resourcesEnter new patient information into EMR system; obtain and verify patient demographicsUpdate existing patient informationScan documents into the patients' electronic chartSchedule appointmentsVerify insurance benefits and co-paymentsPatient check-in and check-outCollect copayments and other patient balancesIdentify and escalate priority issuesHelp with mail distribution and proper flow of correspondenceRequired Skills/Abilities:Willingness to learn new skills as required by the needs of the practiceMaster new skill sets within 6 months of their introductionAvailable to work Monday through Friday, as well as occasional SaturdaysExcellent data entry and typing skillsSuperb customer service skillsExcellent active listening, problem solving, verbal and written communication skillsStrong interpersonal and organizational skillsAdaptability to differing personality typesAbility to multi-task, manage time effectively and prioritize tasksDedication to teamwork and maintaining confidentialityAbility to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.Bilingual (Spanish) reading, writing, and speaking skills are a plusOphthalmology experience preferred but not required
