This position will handle front desk tasks including data entry into the Electronic Management System and billing/insurance processing and inquiries.Qualifications: Required Education and Experience:High school diploma or equivalent.Two years of experience in medical office, hospital, nursing home, or home health setting.Required Special Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:Must be skilled in the operations of a medical office.Working knowledge of word processing software.Basic computer and typing skills, keyboarding.Interpersonal and communication skills.Ability to plan and organize effectively.Knowledge of HIPAA guidelines.Ability to multi-task and work cooperatively with others.Preferred Qualifications:Two years' experience in general office or personnel operations including one year experience working within a medical office.Prior EHR experienceFamiliarity with electronic medical record systems.Fluent in Spanish.Responsibilities:Handle phone calls from patients who need to schedule appointments to include adding new patients, verifying demographic information and insurance.Route calls to clinical staff and enter phone notes as appropriate.Verify patient demographic information, collect co-pays and past-due balances, work patient waitlist, verify insurance, register patients for portal, check patients in/out.Scan insurance cards and IDs.
