Sanford Health, one of the largest and fastest-growing not-for-profit health systems in the United States, is seeking a BE/BC Hematologist/Oncologist to join an existing group of eight physicians at Sanford USD Medical Center. This role offers a full range of oncology practice, including outpatient infusion, multidisciplinary tumor boards, clinical research, and teaching opportunities. - Average patient volume per day is 15-20
- Physicians are supported by a strong team of APP's
- Sanford Cancer Center is the exclusive principal site for National Cancer Institute- Community Oncology Research Program (NCORP) in our region
- New Cancer Center opened the fall of 2016 and includes physician's clinic, high-risk clinic, radiation therapy, infusion, pharmacy, genetic counseling, clinical trials program, survivorship services and more
Responsibilities
- Admit (if applicable to the setting), evaluate, diagnose, treat, and provide consultation to patients adolescence to adult with all types of cancer and other benign and malignant tumors

Requirements
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- Successful completion of a hospital affiliated Internal Medicine residency program and completion of a Hematology or Oncology fellowship or integrated Hematology and Medical Oncology Program in accredited by the ACGME, the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physician and Surgeons of Canada
- Certification in the primary area of practice by the appropriate specialty/ subspecialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable
- If not board certified at the time of application but completed fellowship training within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of fellowship training
- For applicants not directly out of fellowship, provide a quality profile from hospital(s) where currently has privileges showing clinical activity for the last 12 months, including numbers of procedures performed morbidity, mortality, infection rates, and other complications, and demonstrate active involvement of inpatient services for at least 50 patients in the last 12 months
- If a quality profile is not available, documentation of clinical activity for the last 12 months is required, demonstrating active involvement in the care of 50 patients in clinical practice in the last 12 months
