Presbyterian Medical Group is seeking a Board Eligible/Board Certified Hematology/Oncology trained physician to join their Cancer Care Program in Albuquerque, New Mexico. This full-time role involves diagnosing and treating cancer and blood disorders in adults, utilizing various therapies and collaborating with a supportive care team. Practice Info

  • 60% Oncology / 40% Hematology
  • 80% office, 10% inpatient, 10% admin
  • Member of the New Mexico Cancer Care Alliance for clinical trials
  • Systemwide Epic (EMR) system

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat cancer in adults using chemotherapy, hormonal therapy, biological therapy, and targeted therapy
  • Diagnose and treat blood disorders
  • Order and oversee diagnostic testing in alignment with NCCN guidelines
  • Prescribe treatment and supportive medications
  • Collaborate with the care team to include palliative care, psychology, social work, PT, OT, Speech, dietician, nursing, research to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Oversee care provided by Advanced Practice Clinicians, as required by provider licensure
  • Participate in process improvement which drives standard of care across the continuum
  • Participation in tumor board(s) is required

Shift & Schedule

  • Full time
  • FTE: 1.00
  • Clinic hours M - F 8 -5
  • Wednesday and Thursday Tumor Board
  • Call frequency: 7 weeks per year

Requirements

  • M.D. or D.O. with fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology
  • BC/BE Medical Oncology and Hematology
  • NM Medical License
  • Demonstration of CARES behaviors and the practice of collaborative care
  • 3-5 years minimum experience preferred
