Demonstrates clear communication with team members to optimize laboratory operations.What you will do:Accurately and efficiently performs pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical processes for laboratory testingMaintains and troubleshoots laboratory equipment according to manufacturer's instructionsPerforms and evaluates all required quality control assessments as described in departmental policies and procedures prior to reporting patient resultsEvaluates results of laboratory tests according to laboratory protocols to ensure quality patient careDocuments all laboratory activities according to policies and proceduresMaintains and demonstrates competency assessment in assigned areaTakes responsibility for self-developmentCompletes all assigned mandatory assignments within allowed timelinesIs active participant in departmental projectsCollaborates with the laboratory supervisor to ensure laboratory compliance with all regulatory agencies by established standardsTrains students and new team members, and is a resource for other technical team membersAssesses competency of team members as assignedPerforms other duties as assignedComplies with all policies and standardsQualifications:Bachelor's Degree in a chemical, biological or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution; or Bachelor's Degree in other field and Associate's Degree in clinical laboratory science and certification by ASCP or equivalent are also acceptable.2+ years experience in a highly complex laboratory setting preferredKnowledge, skills, and abilities include: ability to keep organized, displays initiative to perform job duties, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, ability to multi-task, initiates and maintains positive relationships with patients, customers, co-workers. Effective written and verbal communication skills, ability to work effectively within role independently and with other team members, knowledge of standard laboratory policies and procedures, safety practices, and laboratory equipment and instrumentation. Initiates, solves problems, and troubleshoots issues independently.
Works in multiple laboratory sections/disciplines independently (3 or more). Displays ability to effectively train students and new team members.
