Medical ICU Director

Northwell Health is seeking a Director for the Medical ICU at South Shore University Hospital, a 341-bed tertiary care hospital and major referral center for Suffolk County, Long Island. This leadership role involves providing clinical, educational, and administrative oversight for the MICU. The position offers an academic appointment at the Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra-Northwell, making it ideal for a physician committed to both patient care and medical education.

• Centers of excellence include cardiology and cardiac surgery, neurosciences, women's health, and pulmonary.
• Multiple specialty ICUs are present, including medical, surgical, cardiothoracic, and neuro.
• The hospital has multiple residency programs, including internal medicine, surgery, ER, and OB/Gyn.
• There are currently 36 ICU beds, with a new ICU tower opening in 2027.
• The MICU integrates closely with a 24/7 eICU.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership for the MICU.
• Provide educational leadership for the MICU.
• Provide administrative leadership for the MICU.

Requirements

• Fellowship training in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
• Board Certification in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine.
• At least 5 years of experience.
