HIV / Primary Care / Infectious Disease Physician
This physician will provide comprehensive outpatient care, manage individualized treatment plans, and support patients through prevention, wellness, chronic disease management, and long-term health outcomes.
What You’ll Do
- Provide comprehensive outpatient medical care, including evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment
- Develop and manage individualized treatment plans based on each patient’s medical needs
- Conduct patient assessments, physical exams, follow-ups, and preventive care visits
- Educate patients on diagnoses, medications, treatment plans, and preventative health strategies
- Prescribe medications and therapies, ensuring safe and appropriate use
- Order and interpret labs, diagnostic testing, and imaging as needed
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly
- Coordinate referrals to specialists when appropriate
- Maintain accurate and timely EMR documentation
- Support chronic disease management, preventive care, and overall wellness initiatives
Qualifications
- MD or DO from an accredited institution
- Active and unrestricted California physician license
- Board certification in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Infectious Disease , or a related specialty
- Minimum 2 years of physician practice experience in hospital, outpatient, private practice, or community health settings
- Strong clinical judgment and ability to diagnose and manage complex patient care needs
- Proficiency with EMR/charting systems and clinical documentation
- Excellent communication and patient counseling skills
- Current BLS certification
Preferred Background
- Experience in HIV/AIDS care, Hepatitis C treatment, infectious disease management, and/or chronic disease care
- Background in community health, LGBTQ+ care, sexual health, or underserved populations
- Familiarity with trauma-informed care and the psychosocial factors that affect health outcomes
- Ability to work effectively with diverse patient populations , including men and transgender women.
