Medical Director, Transplant Nephrology

Location
Morgantown, West Virginia (additional sites in West Virginia and Pennsylvania may be assigned; travel expected).
Responsibilities
- Lead the renal transplant program, collaborating with the Surgical Director to manage clinical operations in compliance with UNOS bylaws and CMS regulations.
- Provide guidance in the evaluation and planning of kidney and heart/kidney transplant patients through all phases of transplantation.
- Participate in program growth with the leadership team, including the Patient Selection Committee, QAPI, strategic planning, and research initiatives.
- Practice and support the Nephrology section’s clinical needs, including inpatient and outpatient nephrology.
- Teach medical students, residents, and fellows; mentor and educate Transplant Staff in the care of kidney patients.
Qualifications
- MD or DO degree (or foreign equivalent) and eligibility for a state medical license.
- Completed fellowship in nephrology and fellowship in transplant nephrology.
- Board certified in internal medicine and certified or eligible in nephrology.
- United Nations Organising Committee for International Sports (UNOS) and Organ Procurement Transplant Network (OPTN) requirements met.
- At least one year of experience in transplant nephrology.
- All qualifications must be met by the time of appointment.
Schedule
40 hours per week. Exempt position.
