Medical Director, School-Based Health Centers

The Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center is seeking a Medical Director for its School Based Health Centers. This role involves overseeing the operations of the School-Based Health Center program, ensuring medical services align with the center's mission and strategic direction. The Medical Director will also direct medical and mental health staff activities, ensuring compliance with policies, regulations, and best practices in adolescent medicine.

• Oversee operations of the School-Based Health Center program
• Work collaboratively with MSAHC Deputy Medical Directors to ensure medical services are developed and managed in accordance with MSAHC's mission, strategic direction, and business position
• Direct activities of medical and mental health staff
• Ensure services are delivered in accordance with Mount Sinai's policies and procedures, New York State regulations and guidelines, funder guidelines, and established best practices in adolescent medicine
• Establish, approve, and implement policies related to the provision of medical services within the Mount Sinai Adolescent Health Center School Based Health Centers

Responsibilities

• Provide direct outpatient care at SBHC's and MSAHC and inpatient coverage at Mount Sinai
• Provide coverage of school-based health center physicians and mid-level practitioners in the event of staff absence
• Ensure that the MSAHC SBHC's operate effectively and efficiently, and that interdisciplinary services become well-integrated
• Supervise the overall development, management, and evaluation of the SBHC medical practice, including MSAHC SBHC physicians and mid-level practitioners
• Evaluate provider's performance no less than annually, perform an OPPE semiannually for all clinical staff, and conduct informal performance evaluation and review of charts on a regular basis
• Develop and implement changes as needed to existing medical care protocols consistent with established adolescent health medical practice standards
• Implement quality assurance mechanisms and monitor the quality of medical care services
• Represent SBHC providers' perspectives in the areas of program development, policies and procedures, staff development, and address difficulties that may arise in providers' efforts to perform their job responsibilities

Compensation

• Compensation range from $175,000 to $190,000 (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)
• The salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits

Requirements

• MD Degree with Board Certification in Adolescent Medicine
• Minimum of 5 years of combined clinical/administrative experience preferred
