Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop strategy and tactics for an integrated Medical Plan (Medical Education, Medical Communications & Publications, Health Outcomes, Safety, Clinical Research including Phase IIIB-IV and Investigator Sponsored Trials) and annual budget for assigned products.
  • Execute the Integrated Medical Plan to deliver tactical activities and deliverables on time and on budget.
  • Communicate plan details and progress to management and execution stakeholders.
  • Provide evidence/data to ensure strategy aligns with clinical development and commercial objectives.
  • Generate and share scientific/medical insights; develop and execute Medical Engagement Plans.
  • Provide medical strategy and expertise to Clinical, Commercial, Market Access, and Regulatory partners; ensure cross-functional alignment.
  • Provide medical leadership to sales/marketing/legal/regulatory for marketed products and drugs in development.
  • Provide scientific guidance to field, marketing, HEVA, Market Access, and sales teams.
  • Manage regional stakeholder relationships, medical engagement planning, and tactical budgets.
  • Collaborate with health economics; review/approve medical/promotional materials and scientific/regulatory content; review IST concepts/protocols and training materials.
  • Maintain knowledge and compliance with relevant guidance/regulations (e.g., FDA, OIG, PhRMA, ICMJE, ISPOR).
  • Oversee Phase IIIB-IV studies and related deliverables; oversee conduct in line with GCP/ICH; ensure timely, fair public presentation of data.
  • Partner with Drug Safety on adverse events/safety signals; identify Product Alerts.
  • Build relationships with Key Thought Leaders; lead advisory boards; support external scientific advisory boards and meetings; provide disease/product training.
  • Identify and manage research collaborations, post-marketing trials, and registries.

Qualifications:

  • Advanced degree in life sciences/pharmaceutical sciences (PhD, PharmD, PA, NP, or MD with relevant experience).
  • Minimum 5 years of relevant Medical Affairs experience.
  • Strong track record developing/executing US medical strategies.
  • Clinical or medical affairs experience in Pulmonary and/or Immunology (preferred).
  • Industry experience in Medical Affairs and/or Clinical Development; experience in Medical Affairs Launch and Life Cycle Management (preferred).

Skills/Requirements:

  • Deep knowledge of healthcare systems, regulatory/payer environment, and public health/industry trends.
  • Sound scientific/clinical judgment; ability to conceptualize/design/conduct clinical trials.
  • Strategic, cross-functional leadership; influence without authority; strong written/oral communication and presentation skills.
  • Integrity/ethics, strong interpersonal/analytical skills, digital literacy.
  • Knowledge of pharmacovigilance and local regulatory process.
  • Travel up to 35%.
