Medical Director Psychiatrist

A growing outpatient behavioral health organization in New York is seeking a Board Certified Psychiatrist for a full-time Medical Director locum assignment. Practice Info

• Outpatient setting
• Approximately 60% clinical and 40% administrative responsibilities
• Patient population includes children, adolescents, and adults, with the youngest patients around age 5
• Majority adult patient mix (70%)
• Supported by an established multidisciplinary behavioral health team

Responsibilities

• Perform psychiatric evaluations and medication management
• Provide clinical supervision and support to 5 Psychiatric Nurse Practitioners
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives
• Oversee clinical standards and documentation
• Collaborate with organizational leadership on program growth and service delivery

Shift & Schedule

• Full time schedule
• Initial 3 month contract with potential for extension
• Target start date within 30 days pending background checks
• Initial evaluations scheduled for 60 minutes
• Medication follow up visits scheduled for 15 minutes
• Hybrid flexibility may be considered

Requirements

• Board Certified Psychiatrist
• Active New York license as well as NY Medicare/Medicaid
• DEA registration required
• Prior leadership, supervisory, community mental health, or addiction experience preferred
