Medical Director Psychiatrist

Newport Healthcare is seeking a Medical Director Psychiatrist to provide clinical and leadership services for our St. Cloud & Wright Co., MN Residential Treatment Programs for Adolescents & Young Adults. The Director reports to the Executive Director and will conduct initial evaluations, offer counseling, and oversee psychiatric care.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a dedicated mental health team to oversee psychiatric care for all residents.
• Conduct thorough psychiatric evaluations within 48 hours of admission.
• Attend to residents requiring psychiatric assistance during treatment.
• Facilitate staff training on key psychiatric issues and standards.
• Liaise with the Medical Director, Clinical Director, and outreach teams to build relationships with hospitals.
• Manage a caseload and document patient encounters through progress notes and EMR.
• Provide support for patient admissions, including initial evaluations and assessments.
• Maintain excellent communication with families and outpatient providers.
• Participate in weekly treatment team meetings and assist with utilization reviews.
• Ensure compliance with Physician Collaborative Agreements and provide age‑appropriate care.

Qualifications

• Education: Doctorate in Medicine (MD) required.
• Board Certification: Board Certified in Child & Adolescent and Adult Psychiatry.
• Licensure: Licensed to practice in the State.
• Preferred Experience: Experience with adolescent psychiatry is required.
• Residential Experience: Experience in residential settings is strongly preferred.
• Leadership Experience: Minimum 5 years of Medical Director/Physician leadership experience is required.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay range: $350,000 to $425,000, depending on education and experience.
