The Role

As a physician with Pacific Medical Specialty Group, you will provide comprehensive care to patients in assigned skilled nursing and post-acute facilities. You will work closely with advanced practice providers, nursing teams, facility administrators, and other healthcare professionals to improve clinical outcomes and the overall patient experience.

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic medical conditions
  • Perform comprehensive patient examinations and assessments
  • Develop individualized, evidence-based treatment plans
  • Order and interpret laboratory tests, imaging, electrocardiograms, and other diagnostic studies
  • Prescribe medications and other appropriate therapies
  • Educate patients and families regarding treatment, health maintenance, and disease management
  • Coordinate referrals and specialty care when appropriate
  • Maintain timely, accurate documentation in the electronic medical record
  • Review and sign laboratory results and required clinical documentation promptly
  • Collaborate with facility staff to support continuity and quality of care

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Serve as Medical Director for assigned facilities, as applicable
  • Partner with the Regional Medical Director, Executive Directors, and Directors of Nursing
  • Help develop and implement programs that improve clinical quality and patient outcomes
  • Provide clinical leadership and guidance to physicians and advanced practice providers
  • Support a collegial environment focused on professional growth and collaboration
  • Participate in quality-improvement initiatives within assigned facilities

Qualifications

  • MD, DO, or equivalent physician degree
  • Board certified or board eligible in Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Geriatric Medicine, General Practice, or a related specialty
  • Other medical specialties may be considered
  • Eligible for or currently holding an unrestricted Oregon medical license
  • Eligible for a DEA registration, NPI number, and prescriptive authority
  • Eligible to participate in Medicare and Medicaid programs
  • Strong communication, documentation, and collaborative-care skills
  • Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered medicine

Experience in primary care, hospital medicine, geriatrics, post-acute care, or skilled nursing is preferred but not required. Physicians completing residency are encouraged to apply.
