Medical Director, Pediatric Neurology

Valley Health System is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Pediatric Neurologist to serve as Medical Director of the Pediatric Neurology Program. This extraordinary opportunity involves providing clinical expertise in pediatric neurology care at the Valley Hospital and the Kireker Center for Child Development, with a focus on Neuro-Developmental or Epilepsy care. The role also includes offering consultation and education to clinicians, clients, and community groups, supporting broader community-based services for special needs populations.

Practice Info

• The Pediatric Neurology program provides consultation and other professional services as part of the Valley Medical Group in northern New Jersey.
• The Kireker Center for Child Development (KCCD) offers a broad spectrum of services, including speech, physical, and occupational therapy, with a complete audiology service available on-site.
• Part of a larger multi-specialty group including experienced providers in Endocrinology, Developmental Pediatrics, Gastroenterology and Nutrition, Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine, Food Allergy, Cardiology, and PM&R.
• Collaboration with the Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital and the Mount Sinai Health System.
• Academic appointments at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital are possible based on previous academic ranking and productivity.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical expertise in pediatric neurology care at the Valley Hospital and the Kireker Center for Child Development (KCCD).
• Provide consultation and education for clinicians, clients, and interested community groups.
• Help support broader community-based services for special needs populations.
• Participate in Department of Pediatrics activities, Kireker Center for Child Development (KCCD), and Hospital Committee meetings as deemed appropriate by the Chair.
• Provide outreach to interested community groups, including schools, childcare programs, parent groups, and other programs.
• Work collaboratively with the PM&R and Developmental Pediatrics team to help build a program.

Compensation

• Competitive compensation models including a minimum starting salary ranging between $250,000 to $270,000 with generous productivity incentives with an opportunity to grow uncapped.

Requirements

• MD/DO or equivalent degree.
• Board certified in Pediatric Neurology.
• Existing or Eligibility for New Jersey Medical License, DEA, and CDS required.
• Maintains CME credit hours as required for Board Certification and/or hospital staff privileges.
• Ability to work collaboratively with our PM&R and Developmental Pediatrics team and help build a program.
• Experience in EEG interpretation (a plus).
• Experience and/or an interest in the management of patients with autism and other pervasive developmental disorders.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills for both clinical and non-clinical audiences, in group settings or one-on-one.
• Strong clinical skills with the ability to advance and develop a superior clinical service.
• Ability to foster a respectful, equitable, and inclusive work environment.
