Medical Director Pediatric Cardiology AdventHealth for Children, Orlando, FL

Overview

AdventHealth Medical Group and AdventHealth for Children are seeking a pediatric cardiology medical director to join our multidisciplinary pediatric and adult congenital cardiology team. The position involves 0.8 FTE clinical work and 0.2 FTE administrative work (32 hours per month, not to exceed 384 hours per year). The physician will be part of a comprehensive team that includes surgeons, cardiologists, coordinators, dietitians, pharmacists, therapists, and social workers, with cross coverage for call.

Requirements

• Board certification in pediatric cardiology.
• Additional subspecialty board certification as applicable for sub‑specialization.
• High caliber, quality‑focused, innovative physician with strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Previous leadership experience in a similar role preferred.

Language Preference

Bi‑lingual for Spanish: strongly preferred.

Practice Description

Hospital Description

Our Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children is a full‑service tertiary children’s hospital with 200 dedicated pediatric beds, 30 pediatric ICU beds, a 102‑bed Level 4 NICU, a 17‑bed pediatric emergency department, and a statewide pediatric network and transport system. The hospital began its comprehensive pediatric open‑heart program in 2012 and provides additional key destination programs, including a level IV epilepsy program and the region’s only bone marrow transplant and solid organ transplant services. The hospital’s 30‑hospital system serves approximately 24,000 births annually and offers many successful pediatric subspecialty programs.
