Medical Director

The Medical Director provides clinical leadership and direct patient care within an outpatient primary care setting focused on serving individuals living with HIV/AIDS. This role is responsible for delivering high-quality, evidence-based care, overseeing clinical outcomes, supporting multidisciplinary teams, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and quality standards.

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Active MD or DO license in the applicable state.
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in one of the following:
• Internal Medicine
• Family Medicine
• Adult Gerontology
• Infectious Disease
• Active DEA registration and furnishing/prescribing authority as required by state regulations.
• Prior experience diagnosing, treating, and managing HIV/AIDS patients in an outpatient primary care environment.
• Ability and willingness to maintain a patient volume of approximately 15-18 patients per day.
• Current CPR/BLS certification.
• Commitment to obtaining or maintaining AAHIVM (American Academy of HIV Medicine) Certification within 18 months of hire.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide comprehensive primary care services to patients living with HIV/AIDS and other chronic conditions.
• Diagnose, treat, and develop ongoing care plans for HIV-positive patients in accordance with current clinical guidelines.
• Manage a daily patient panel of approximately 15-18 patients while maintaining quality care standards.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams including nurses, case managers, behavioral health providers, and specialists.
• Serve as a clinical resource and leader for providers and support staff.
• Support implementation of evidence-based treatment protocols and best practices for HIV care.
• Monitor quality metrics, patient outcomes, and compliance with federal, state, and organizational requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and accreditation activities.
• Provide patient education related to HIV management, prevention, wellness, and chronic disease management.
• Ensure accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) system.
• Stay current on emerging HIV treatments, therapies, and clinical guidelines.
