Medical Director Hospitalist

AdventHealth is seeking a dedicated and experienced board-certified Family or Internal Medicine physician to serve as Medical Director for their Internal Medicine Department. This clinical-only role involves joining an existing inpatient practice affiliated with the Allopathic Family Medicine residency. The Medical Director will be instrumental in driving excellence in quality, safety, patient experience, and productivity within the Internal Medicine group at AdventHealth Orlando, a nationally recognized hospital.

• Join an existing inpatient practice affiliated with the Allopathic Family Medicine residency
• Focus on evidence-based medicine with a concentration on patient-centered care
• AdventHealth Orlando is an acute-care, tertiary hospital caring for approximately 300,000 patients a year
• Primary campus for more than 1,000 physicians
• Home to nationally recognized Centers of Excellence for Cancer, Cardiology, Children, Diabetes, Neuroscience, Orthopaedics, and Abdominal and Cardiothoracic Transplant

Responsibilities

• Serve in a clinical only role
• Create excellence in quality, safety, patient experience, best practices, and productivity within the Internal Medicine group
• Support the recruitment of physicians and advanced practice providers
• Develop and support the Hospitalist Inpatient onboarding process
• Promote and mentor physician leadership within the team
• Work with the Executive Medical Director to set the goals and objectives of the internal medicine department

Requirements

• Board-certified Family or Internal Medicine trained physician
• Minimum two years clinical experience
• Leadership experience including areas such as medical staff leadership, department leadership, or quality and safety leadership highly preferred
• Experience in hospitalist medicine preferred
• Strong communication skills preferred
• Bilingual in Spanish is preferred, but not necessary
• Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine (ABMS) is required
