West Virginia University Department of Emergency Medicine/SystemMedical Group seeks an Emergency Medicine Medical Director. Thesuccessful candidate will be expected to oversee the EmergencyMedicine practices for the Emergency Department at Jackson GeneralHospital in Ripley, WV.

Practice medicine for the right reasons, with the rightpeople.

Duties

The successful candidate will practice in the areasof Emergency Medicine. In addition to providing excellent patientcare, the successful candidate may also be actively involved inteaching medical students and residents. The Clinical MedicalDirector will also be primary contact for all physicians andadvance practice professionals working in the emergency departmentsat The Clinical Medical Director will be responsible foroperational, fiscal, staffing, and personnel issues for JacksonGeneral Hospital. The Clinical Medical Director will repot directlyto the Vice Chair of Emergency Medicine/Medical Director ofEmergency Medicine, WVUHS and Hospital Administration.

Qualifications

Candidate must have an MD or DO degree orforeign equivalent and be eligible for state medical license.Successful candidate must ABMS board certified in EmergencyMedicine (or Family Medicine or Internal Medicine with 5+ years’experience.) Demonstrated interest, knowledge and ability in theleadership, financial, managerial, and marketing aspects ofemergency medicine. Meets and maintains State Licensure andcredentialing requirements for the hospitals. Demonstrates abilityto speak effectively on administrative and clinical matters relatedto emergency medicine. Possess the abilityto appropriately focuseson the audience, whether administrators, medical staff members, EMSproviders, or the lay public.
