The Medical Director serves as subject matter expert for products and related data in the Diabetes and Renal Therapeutic areas.
Responsibilities
- Provide input to PDP and Evidence Generation Plan (EGP); review/offer insights on Novo Nordisk clinical trials
- Support identification of signatory/primary investigators; assist with investigator/results meetings and molecule-specific training
- Review investigator-sponsored study (ISS) proposals and comment to RGC Chair; attend Research Grants Committee meetings
- Support National Leaders/National Expert Panels for select trials
- Lead planning and execution of National Advisory Board meetings; deliver clinical data/presentations and gather feedback
- Support other advisory boards; partner with professional associations to identify shared goals/initiatives
- Serve on Publication Planning Group; review/comment on abstracts, posters, manuscripts; prepare/support external authors; develop local US publication plan
- Assist with IME priorities/plan and selection of proposals for IME grant funding
- Train Field Medical Affairs, Sales, and Market Access teams; review/approve FMA resources and Medical Information letters; review/comment on AMCP dossier; support Speakers’ Bureau
- Provide medical review for PRB materials; provide medical input for non-launch products; advise Marketing on PRB materials
- Serve on Core/Extended Medical Team and support Therapeutic Area Medical Plan; represent Medical Affairs on global medical fora; collaborate with HEOR on clinical input/authorship
- Serve on Local Labeling Committee and provide medical input to Regulatory Affairs
Qualifications
- MD, DO, PhD, or PharmD required
- 5+ years combined clinical, research, or Pharma experience required
- Diabetes patient management experience strongly preferred; MD/DO preferred
- Strategic mindset; strong communication/presentation; stakeholder management in complex matrix environments
- Tactical knowledge of clinical trial design/oversight/assessment; clinical trials investigator and/or Pharma experience; GCP, medical product support, publications, ISS, med ed
- Endocrinology/diabetes subspecialty training preferred
Physical/Location
- 20–30% overnight travel; home office based in Princeton, NJ (commute or relocate).
