Medical Director, Developmental Pediatrics

Valley Health System, in affiliation with the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai, is seeking a Medical Director for their Developmental Pediatrics Program. This leadership role involves overseeing a multidisciplinary team at the Kireker Center for Child Development (KCCD) in northern New Jersey, focusing on early childhood development, behavioral, and psychosocial issues. The Director will contribute to a large multi-specialty group and potentially receive an academic appointment at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Hospital.

• The Developmental Pediatrics program is part of the Valley Medical Group and Valley-Mount Sinai Children's Health Service line.
• The Kireker Center for Child Development (KCCD) offers speech, physical, and occupational therapies, and a complete audiology service.
• The role is within a larger multi-specialty group including providers in Endocrinology, Gastroenterology and Nutrition, Pulmonary and Sleep Medicine, Food Allergy, Cardiology, PM&R, and Neonatology.
• Collaboration with the Mount Sinai Kravis Children's Hospital and the Mount Sinai Health System.
• The Valley Hospital in Paramus, NJ, is a new 370-bed acute care hospital that opened on April 14, 2024.
• Valley Medical Group is a physician-led and professionally-managed group practice with over 300 physicians and nearly 200 advanced practice providers across 60 adult and pediatric specialties.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team including a physician, nurse practitioner, and social workers to provide clinical expertise in early childhood development, behavioral, and psychosocial issues.
• Participate in Department of Pediatrics activities, KCCD activities, and Hospital Committee meetings as deemed appropriate by the Chair.
• Participate in outreach to interested community groups, including schools, childcare programs, parent groups, and other programs.
• Complete a comprehensive neurodevelopmental/neurobehavioral evaluation, including a pertinent medical history for pediatric patients.
• Perform a developmental/behavioral assessment.
• Provide patient care management.
• Evaluate and manage children/youth with developmental disabilities.
• Advance and develop a superior clinical service.

Compensation

• Competitive compensation models include generous wRVU productivity incentive with the opportunity to grow, uncapped.
• Compensation range from $204,000 to $219,000 (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits).

Requirements

• MD/DO or equivalent degree.
• Board certified in Developmental/Behavioral Pediatrics or Neurodevelopmental Disabilities.
• Existing or Eligibility for New Jersey Medical License, DEA and CDS required.
• Maintains CME credit hours as required for Board Certification and/or hospital staff privileges.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and presentation skills for both clinical and non-clinical audiences, in group settings or one-on-one.
• Strong clinical skills.
