How you make a difference
As a Medical Director, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring strict adherence to company and institutional security regulations, while diligently providing essential documentation of medical services to the Regional or Corporate Medical Director, facilitating ongoing monitoring of service delivery and contract compliance. Your commitment to transparency extends to promptly notifying the Regional or Corporate Medical Director and Health Services Administrator of any schedule adjustments, ensuring seamless coverage for medical services even during extended absences.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive medical care within a correctional facility, including examining referred patients, daily infirmary visits, and ensuring thorough, problem oriented documentation in Electronic Medical Records (EMR) or on approved forms.
- Respond to emergencies, supervise and instruct healthcare personnel, and consult with medical specialists and professionals to deliver high quality care while adhering to established policies and standards.
- Collaborate with the Health Services Administrator to improve patient outcomes through continuous quality improvement initiatives, including Chronic Care Clinics, pharmacy service monitoring, and liaison with community healthcare providers.
- Review and approve treatment protocols, clinical policies, and disaster plans, ensuring compliance with industry standards and company policies.
- Provide clinical oversight, participate in the Continuous Quality Improvement Committee, and make recommendations to enhance patient care and safety.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education
- Medical school graduate
Experience
- Experience in Family Practice, Emergency Medicine, Internal Medicine, or Public Health preferred
Licenses/Certifications
- Must have and maintain current licensure within the State of employment
- Must maintain a current DEA number
- Must obtain and maintain CPR certification
- Must maintain privileges and CME requirements for continued medical practice in the State
