Medical Director Acute Care - Psychiatry

Mount Sinai Health System is seeking a Medical Director of Acute Care Psychiatry for its Behavioral Health Center. This physician leader will provide clinical and administrative leadership for the department's Inpatient Psychiatry Services, partnering with nursing and multidisciplinary teams to ensure high-quality acute care. Responsibilities

• Supervise Inpatient Unit Chiefs and unit attending physicians
• Develop and implement clinical practice guidelines and standardize documentation and workflows for acute care services
• Manage acute care clinical operations and ensure adequate clinical coverage
• Attend behavioral health emergencies on the acute service to support the team
• Assist in revenue cycle and productivity management for acute care services
• Lead training efforts related to acute care services, including Grand Rounds or other departmental presentations
• Provide oversight and development of quality initiatives for acute care services
• Provide clinical oversight and supervision of clinical staff, and clinical care as needed to support the inpatient services

Compensation

• Compensation range from $255,000 to $400,000 (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)
• Salary range listed is for full-time employment and does not include bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits

Requirements

• BE/BC Psychiatrist
• Possess a NYS license to practice medicine
• Excellent clinical knowledge and communication skills
• Outstanding teaching skills
• Highly collaborative and proactive approach, and demonstrated commitment to high-quality, cost-effective health care
• A strong work ethic and desire to participate in and grow a team-oriented, performance-driven department
