Duties
Safely operate various delivery vehicles, including box trucks and personal vehicles, to transport medical items between facilities, laboratories, pharmacies, and hospitals.
Load and unload shipments using manual handling techniques and material handling equipment such as pallet jacks, ensuring proper weight distribution and safe lifting practices.
Follow designated routes diligently while adhering to traffic regulations and DOT (Department of Transportation) standards for commercial driving.
Maintain accurate delivery logs using mobile devices or other digital tools, documenting shipment details and delivery confirmations.
Ensure the secure handling of sensitive medical materials during transit, including proper packaging and storage procedures.
Communicate effectively with dispatch teams and clients to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any logistical issues promptly.
Conduct routine vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with safety standards and report any maintenance needs or safety concerns.
Skills
Proven experience in delivery driving, courier services, or warehouse operations involving manual handling and moving goods.
Familiarity with commercial truck driving, box trucks, or personal vehicle delivery with a valid driver’s license; experience with PERSON drivers preferred.
Knowledge of warehouse operations, material handling equipment operation such as pallet jacks, and heavy lifting techniques aligned with safe lifting practices.
Strong understanding of traffic regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) regulations, and weight handling in the workplace.
Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor when interacting with clients and healthcare professionals.
Ability to operate mobile devices for route navigation, delivery documentation, and communication purposes.
Physical capability for manual handling tasks including lifting heavy loads safely while following OSHA (Occupational Safety and Health Administration) guidelines.
