Sanford Health is seeking a BE/BC Medical Biochemical Geneticist to join their growing team. This role involves diagnosing, medically treating, and managing individuals with inherited metabolic conditions from infancy through adulthood. The sub-specialist will provide direct and consultative care for patients of all ages diagnosed with inborn errors of metabolism.

Responsibilities
- Diagnosis, medical treatment, and management of individuals with inherited metabolic conditions presenting clinically from infancy through adulthood
- Provide direct care and consultative care for individuals of all ages who are diagnosed with inborn errors of metabolism
- Perform history and physical examination
- Admit, evaluate, diagnose, and provide treatment of patients of all ages with genetic or possibly genetically linked, diseases or disorders
- Utilize molecular genetics, cytogenetic, radiologic, and biochemical testing to assist in specialized genetic counseling
- Implement needed therapeutic interventions and prevention through prenatal diagnosis

Requirements
- BE/BC Medical Biochemical Geneticist
- Experience in management of biochemical disorders is encouraged
- M.D. or D.O. degree
- Successful completion of an ACGME-residency program in a primary medical specialty followed by successful completion of an accredited ACGME residency in clinical medical genetics OR Successful completion of a four-year ACGME accredited residency program in clinical medical genetics
- Certification by the appropriate specialty board of the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS), the American Osteopathic Association (AOA) or the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, as applicable
- If not board certified at the time of application but completed residency training within the last five years, must achieve board certification within five years from the date of completion of residency training
- Demonstrate active involvement in 25 Medical Genetics cases in the past 12 months
