Med-Scribe, Inc. is recruiting for a full-time, temp-to-hire Medical Biller in Newark, NY. You’ll process claims, post payments and help resolve outstanding balances for a nonprofit healthcare organization. If you have experience in medical billing, accounts receivable or a combination of both, we’d like to hear from you. Schedule and benefits
- Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
- Office-based in Newark, NY
- $21/hour
- Benefits package includes health, dental, vision and life insurance, a 403(b) retirement plan, a Health Savings Account, paid time off and paid holidays
What you will do
- Process medical claims and resolve clearinghouse rejections and denials
- Post charges and payments, monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding balances
- Work with insurance companies to resolve disputed claims and processing issues
- Communicate with clients about billing and payments
- Maintain tracking spreadsheets and prepare billing reports
Skills and experience
- At least two years of accounts receivable experience; medical billing experience preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel
- Strong follow-through, problem-solving and communication skills, with the ability to stay organized and meet deadlines
- A valid NYS driver’s license
